Professional background

I have been digitizing Europe's Payments and Remittance sector for the past ten years. I am a seasoned (15+ years) Senior Manager in Banking & Finance industry. As a Head of Sales and Integrations at Western Union (NYSE: WU), I sell and integrate the WU payments platform to Financial Institutions across EEA countries. My current role spans contract negotiations and business and compliance requirements set (AMLD, PSD2, GDPR) through solution design and cross-functional team management in a highly regulated financial industry. Previously I was responsible for WU's digital expansion and development of the WU App and westernunion.com. I was integrating new payment methods, improving the customer onboarding and verification process and driving the overall WU digital product strategy for Central Europe. I also held various Business, Operations and Compliance roles in ABN Amro Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, State Street Bank and Western Union.

Interests and Education

Since I was 8, I have been passionate about programming and computer science. It all began with Amstrad CPC 6128 and a very simple BASIC code. Later, I discovered the power of Javascript and Python which I extensively mastered and applied at day to day work. I graduated from Warsaw School of Economics (Master in Banking & Finance).
I am also Warwick Business School alumnus with 'Merit', my thesis explores AI adoption across Financial Institutions.
My other passion is learning foreign languages, I am fluent in English, French and C1 in Spanish.

Key Achievements: Signed and executed 3 multi-million dollar contracts with Financial Institutions ensuring incremental revenue stream for WU. Co-created 3-years Western Union omnichannel strategy for Germany.
Driving incremental revenue through WU cross-border payments product integrations to Financial Institution’s ecosystem (Tier 1 - 2 banks, Fintechs).

Senior Key Account & Digital Product Manager

Key Achievements: Signed and executed contracts with 2 primary digital payment solutions in Germany, Poland and Switzerland; successful launch of 8 WU mobile applications, implementation of new ID verification method in Germany; successful negotiation with card issuers minimizing transaction decline rate across CE. All Key Accounts met the imposed financial targets.

Key Achievements: Successfully signed 12 WU exclusive large accounts contracts in 4 years with major financial organisations across Central Europe, consistently delivering WU revenue targets and appropriate network quality. Delivered new, POS system features ensuring better customer experience and payment's system stability.

Compliance Officer

Key Achievements: Developed and updated WU Central Eastern Europe Compliance policies and procedures. Onboarded 10+ WU agents in line with PSD2 and 4th AML Directive requirements. Built several analytics tools in Python & VBA ensuring the best data visualisation for Risk Control Teams.

Key Achievements: Led several Due Diligence analyses on High Risk corporate and individual investors resulting in minimizing regulatory risk exposure of SSBL. Assisted IFDSL (State Street Bank delegated Transfer Agent) in assessing new AML and KYC regulation, which has been recognized by IFDSL Board. Member of the State Street Bank Luxembourg Regulatory Steering Committee, responsible for Regulatory updates and Regulatory risk assessment.

Key Achievements: Successfully led a team of 4 people, responsible for extensive Due Diligence of corporate clients in France, Belgium and Luxembourg based on Client Acceptance and AML Group policy, including specific local requirements, FATF and Wolfsberg Group recommendations. Led several onsite trainings in Luxembourg directly with high-value corporate clients. Contributed significantly to RBS Group AML manual, updating procedures and policies as well as leading the training team for new hires.
